Q: In general, how much fabric should I leave for finishing?

A: The general rule is 2” per side, which means an addition of 4” to each dimension. If you are working with fabric that unravels easily, you should add 3” per side to be safe.

Q: What is a common needle size for embroidery?

A: Most embroidery projects use a 24 or 26 needle. Always read your project’s instructions and use the proper needle size.

Q: With so many different kinds of threads to choose from, how do I know which ones to choose?

A: Always buy the best quality of thread that is suitable for your project. This means do not purchase threads from the bargain bin…no matter how tempting!
